About Me

Hello lovely people!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to visit my store, it means the world!

I have been a self-taught crocheter for the past 3+ years. I knew about it, and I absolutely admired the art, but it never really crossed my mind to start until I got a set of hooks and a mini amigurumi kit for Christmas of 2022. From that point on, crocheting became my favorite and the overall most important hobby to me. If you're a serial hobbyist like me, you know that you want to start all sorts of hobbies, but usually it doesn't last long before you tuck the supplies away and forget about it. Fortunately, that was far from the case for me with crochet, and even if I get arthritis, crocheting will be a favorite and lifelong hobby, I know that for sure! I started with amigurumi like most do, but I also thoroughly enjoy crocheting all types of other things. I am always up for a challenge and trying something new, so I personally feel like I have a good understanding and skill set for all different things crochet.

A few things about me: I'm currently a sophomore in college in Computer Science at Kennesaw State University with a minor in Chinese studies! Being a Computer Science major was actually very helpful during this process of developing my website, and it has probably been my favorite part in the process of creating a small business. It's actually what made me realize that UI Design is my career goal once I graduate! The process it meticulous and lots of back and forth, but I think that's what makes it fun ;). Some other little things about me is that I love baking, walking, and am a HUGE cat lover! I have two void kitties (who you will meet further down this page) that are my babies. I'm very grandma-coded at the ripe age of 19, but I know I'm not the only one..

Why sell crochet?

During my first year in college (at a different university—I've played the transfer game in college!) I got various opportunities to be a vendor in solely student-based markets, where craft organizations and women-led organizations allow the crafty and entrepreneurial students earn some cash for their art and get themselves known for what they make. I absolutely LOVED this experience, and if I could produce enough crochet fast enough, I would absolutely do a market every month. Nonetheless, selling my art is incredibly fun to me. I actually love the entire process, even the budgeting and analytical parts of it. So I thought, why not go full swing and make it into a business?

It took a long time to get this up and running. I had the idea to create a business and generate a website as my focal selling point in December of 2024. I spent the entirety of 2025 working on and off, but never making much progress. However, I'm glad it worked out this way, because I feel confident in my business and definitely had lots to learn.

Now to address something I've received a LOT of commentary on: pricing.

Crochet is a very popular market nowadays, and it absolutely should be. It's a meticulous and beautifully versatile art, and I'm happy to see so many crocheters sell their work and people appreciate and understand the effort that goes into making anything crocheted. That being said, you'll notice that crochet is definitely not cheap. Materials, time, calculations, etc. it's definitely a piece of work. When I have done markets and commissions, a lot of times I've heard: "Your prices are too cheap!" Truth be told, I don't have much of a price calculator that I use or anything of the sort, and I'm okay with that. As I've sold dozens of products in the past few years, I really have just priced on what felt right. It's not "poor reflection" or "undervaluing" my work, it really is just what I think makes sense to me. I enjoy what I do, I don't view crocheting my products as a full time, laboring, dreadful job that I have to force myself to do. So, why charge it like it is? I get to make products for people who love and admire them from the comfort of my bed, in my PJ's, and snuggling with my cats while watching TV. That's much better than night shift in fast food or long days of customer service, don't ya think?

I also firmly believe that everybody deserves something made with effort, love, and thoughtfulness, and pricing is usually a barrier. Yes, costs of things are high because you need to cover material, time, all that jazz, and mine does! My pricing makes sense to me, analytically has great profit margin, it's affordable and makes people happy. It's all a win-win in my eyes, and I think that's all that matters.

Behind the design

You have probably noticed the prevalence of black cats in my website, logo, and business overall. Wondering why?

Ta-da! My two girls, Delilah and Susu. As I mentioned, I am a cat lover, duh. But, more specifically, I am a black cat enthusiast!!! Delilah (on the right), who I adopted in 2019, is who I call my first born child. She was a mom cat found on the streets with her kittens, and brought into my local humane society. All her kittens were adopted, and sadly, she was left behind. She caught my family's attention because of her name given by the humane society, they called her DeeDee. We have a similar nickname for my little sister, so naturally we were all like, "OMG, look at her name!" When I saw her, I literally fell in love. She was so sweet and loving, and I just couldn't walk away. We took her home that night, and I'm so glad we did. She turned out to be very meek and skittish, but she's a lovebug, and she's very smart!

Susu on the other hand, I did not adopt until last year in June. She was a tiny little void at a flea market, and my roommate at the time saw how much I loved her. I was conflicted on getting her, but it didn't take much for me to cave. However, I'm very glad I did. She gives me a run for my money, that's for sure. She is very different from her older sister. Delilah is quite shy and not very vocal unless she needs something or is unhappy with the lack of attention she is receiving. Susu has been a chatter box since day one, and I mean, lots of meowing. She's absolutely wild, but I live for it. She's just as much as a lovebug, and is super clingy. She has also become a skittish and shy little thing with new people, but I've learned that she trusts easily if she sees you with treats.

All in all, I love them both so dearly, and I wanted them to be the "mascot" of my business! Aren't they adorable?

If you've made it this far, thank you from the bottom to my heart to the top of my head! I appreciate the time and interest to read this little page on my website, and I hope you enjoy navigating the rest of it!

With love, Pip <3
